Minutes 3/15/2011

Present: Pat Hilmer, Jan Cleaver, Jenny Thorn, Diana Streblow, Carolyn Cada

Absent: Mary Gibbons, Kelly Butzlaff, Sara Pritzl, Belinda Kuester, Sue Bongert (liaison)

The meeting was called to order and led in prayer by Jenny Thorn.

February minutes were approved.

Care Ministry Jan discussed setting a date for Virtus training (necessary for all Care Ministry volunteers) with Jenny.

Stone Soup Supper The Stone Soup Supper is set for Thursday, April 21, 5:30 p.m., at the St. Mary site. The committee will meet at St. Mary's at 4:00 p.m. to have a brief meeting beforehand to discuss upcoming events, particularly the upcoming volunteer search for new committee members to replace those leaving the committee this year.

Jan will contact Bud Brown from the Roxie restaurant for the donation of chicken dumpling soup. Jenny will call Paula Steger to see if she will make minestrone soup. Mary will be making her chicken soup and Pat offered to bring soup as well. Jenny agreed to check supplies and make necessary purchases, including the bread and butter. Jenny will check into table and chair set up and placemats.

Invitations were discussed. "You are the salt of the earth" will be the theme, with salt packets attached to the invitations this year. Invitations will be put together Tuesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at our usual meeting site.

Strategic Planning update The committee began reviewing the strategic plan, however, decided to continue this project during it's May meeting due to time constraints and missing committee members.

Parish Council Correspondence Pat shared correspondence from Sue Bongert regarding the upcoming Volunteer night on May 15. Also, the committee must update its synopsis of what the committee is doing and what its role is in the parish and send it to the parish office by May 2 to get it into the bulletin. Father also needs to know how many of the committee members will be leaving in June. According to records, this appears to be 3 members – those being Belinda, Sara, and Jenny. Father also thinks the committee needs to find a person to be responsible for the Right to Life and Life issues.

The meeting ended in prayer.

Respectfully submitted,

Pat Hilmer
