There are a variety of volunteer roles that need to be filled in order to best serve the teens through this ministry. Please take some time to look through the below list of volunteer roles and discern how you might be called to serve in this ministry.

Youth Ministers

These volunteers assist in the planning and implementation of the Sunday night Faith Nights. They are asked to be present for the Mass and Faith Nights each week (4:00pm - 8:30pm) throughout the school year and to meet once per month to help plan the Faith Nights. Their primary task is to develop meaningful relationships with teens that lead the teens further into relationship with Christ.

Liturgical Ministers

Our Sunday night Masses at Lourdes will primarily use teenagers in the various liturgical roles (lectors, ushers, gift bearers, etc). However, we are in need of a few Confirmed adults who are willing to help as sacristans and Eucharistic ministers. These ministers would be asked to help at one Mass each month.

Environment Team

These volunteers will assist with the set-up and/or tear down of the Sunday evening Mass and Faith Night. They will work in collaboration with the youth ministers and coordinator to create and set up the worship environment, and the themed environment for the large group.

Food Prep Team

These volunteers would help to coordinate the purchasing/donation of the food for the half hour between Mass and the Faith Night. They would also work on a rotation to be present to prepare and serve the food on Sunday nights.

Occasional Support Staff

These volunteers would be available on an as-needed basis to assist the coordinator or other volunteers with various tasks such as driving teens to an event, making phone calls, typing or word processing, addressing mailings, etc.

Intercessory Prayer Team

These volunteers are another essential part of this ministry. They would commit to regular weekly prayer on behalf of the youth ministry, the volunteers, the teens, and the coordinator. They would receive weekly prayer request and would take those requests to Christ in prayer.
